Programme outcome
Outcomes by the end of month two · published 28 November 2025
Initial situation
Unstable oxygen conditions, sludge bulking and carryover, foam and disrupted nitrification.
Actions taken
The facility experienced an unstable oxygen regime, sludge bulking and carryover, foam and disrupted nitrification. BIOFOX was introduced with technical support. Outcomes were assessed through effluent analyses and operating observations.
Application results
Ammonium, sludge carryover, foam and odours decreased. The biological treatment stage became more stable.
| Parameter | By the end of month two |
|---|---|
| Effluent BOD₅, mg/L | 2–5 |
| Change in ammonium | −70–85% |
| Effluent suspended solids, mg/L | 10–20 |
Site and period
The readings were obtained by the end of the second month at a plant receiving mixed wastewater with industrial loading. Outcomes were assessed through treated-water analyses and biological-stage operation.
