Programme outcome
8 March–24 April 2017
Treated water from one section · five sampling dates · 8 March–24 April 2017
Initial situation
The treatment section had a capacity of 20,000 m³/day. Before implementation, on 8 March 2017, effluent BOD₅ was 18.1 mg/L, COD was 48 mg/L and suspended solids were 23 mg/L. Influent composition varied during the following weeks.
Actions taken
BIOFOX implementation began on 8 March 2017, with dosing into the channel after the screens. The programme combined dose selection and aeration adjustments to match the facility’s actual loading.
Application results
By 24 April, effluent BOD₅ had fallen from 18.1 to 4.0 mg/L, a 78% reduction. COD fell from 48 to 29 mg/L, a 40% reduction. Suspended solids changed from 23 to 6.2 mg/L and ammonium from 1.88 to 0.31 mg/L. The presentation records five successive observation dates.

Site and period
Five treated-water sampling dates from 8 March to 24 April 2017. The result was achieved through a combined BIOFOX application and aeration-adjustment programme under variable influent conditions.
