Programme outcome
With product / without product · separate lagoons
Two separate lagoons after four weeks of holding.
Initial situation
Two lagoons containing organic effluent. Air above treated and untreated lagoons was compared after four weeks of holding.
Actions taken
Between 2021 and 2023 the facility progressed from a pilot to regular application. The report compares ammonia and hydrogen sulphide above two lagoons after four weeks of holding: one with BIOFOX and one without the product.
Application results
After four weeks, ammonia above the BIOFOX-treated lagoon was 0.2 mg/m³ versus 6.2 mg/m³ above the untreated lagoon — 31 times lower. Hydrogen sulphide was 0.1 versus 8.2 mg/m³ — 82 times lower.
| In the air above the lagoon | With BIOFOX | Without product |
|---|---|---|
| Ammonia, mg/m³ | 0.2 ± 0.03 | 6.2 ± 0.9 |
| Hydrogen sulphide, mg/m³ | 0.1 ± 0.1 | 8.2 ± 1.2 |
Site and period
Two lagoons were compared after four weeks of holding: with BIOFOX and without the product. Values and ± notation follow the report table. The result describes ammonia and hydrogen sulphide concentrations in the air above the lagoons.
Documentary basis
Report covering the 2021–2023 programme and a 2023 analytical note: air measurements above the lagoons after four weeks of holding.
